In my role as Co-Head of the Undergraduate Program at the University of Texas Department of Design, I oversee the student journey from admission to graduation and collaborate with our chair and undergraduate curriculum leaders to shape transformative educational experiences for our Design students.

wkrm Project Studio

wkrm is a student-run, faculty-led design studio at the School of Design and Creative Technologies. The studio offers students the opportunity to work with clients in a realistic setting and provides support for their professional development. Learn more about wkrm here.

Introduction to Design Research

First-year Design students learn design research methods, including interviewing people and making observations, to explore topics and draw inferences that inform and inspire their design ideas. Download the syllabus here >

How To See Like a Designer

Students, both within and outside the Design major, learn to view the world around them more critically by employing observation methods that designers often use in their work. Download the syllabus here >

Civic Service Design

Students learn service design methods through projects that explore how to improve sociability, access, mobility, and comfort in various urban settings, such as streets, parks, bus stops, and recreational areas, as well as campus conditions. Download the syllabus here >
